The actor most well known his roles on CSI: NY and Homeland has made Detroit his home, even going so far as to buy a local business.
Hill Harper announced that he would be moving to Detroit, buying a historic house in the city to renovate as well as purchasing a business, which seems to indicate he's in it for the long haul. Harper said in a press release:
“Detroit is a great American city that was forged on innovation, social enterprise and entrepreneurship, [...] Having lived here filming two movies in Detroit over the past four years, I have come to love this city and its people. I believe in Detroit. It is truly a vibrant, unique and great American city.”
The purchased business is the Roast Plant Cafe located Downtown in Campus Martius Park.
Not just known for his acting ability, Harper is also a New York Times Best Selling author for his 2007 work "Letters To A Young Brother". Harper also runs a series of empowerment summer camps called Summer Empowerment Academy which he will also be bringing with him to the city.
