The Magic Johnson Foundation has served more than 9,600 Michigan families over the past 3 years. Since 2014, Holiday Hope has distributed nearly $3 million worth of food, turkeys, toys, coats and personal care items. Each year, more than 900 volunteers across Michigan, pack, distribute and greet families for Holiday Hope. Community organizations and distribution hosts Second Ebenezer Church, Lansing School District and the Genesee Intermediate School District have been key to making sure resources go to families in need. The Magic Johnson Foundation, founded by basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson is a 501(c) (3) organization that was established in 1991 as a grant maker and to raise funds for community-based organizations focused on HIV/AIDS education and prevention.
