‘DAMN.’ Turns Certifiably Platinum

Not that it comes as any surprise since we all saw it coming from the drop of “HUMBLE.,” this still needs to be recognized.

In less than a month,  Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. went from speculation, to creation, to absolute consumption by hordes of hip-hop fans to the tune of over one million units.

In a tweet, Interscope Records simply said, “[email protected] DAMN. is now PLATINUM #TDE.”

The album has enjoyed virtually instant success, including appearing at the top spot on the Billboard 200 the last two weeks.

In a hip-hop world where mumble rap seems to be leading the rushing tide, it’s DAMN. near perfect that K.Dot tossed us all an album that can also be used as a floatation device from drowning in the sea of rapper sameness.
