Every year, the makeup line MAC collaborates with a celebrity for their Viva Glam line.
Celebrities like Rupaul and Mariah Carey have created their own signature makeup. This year, Empire star Taraji P. Henson was selected to team up for a good cause. This is the second time she has created her own line with the brand, but this time she has created her own shade.
In an Instagram post from MAC, the shade is meant to give the wearer “confidence and flaunt panache.” There are two different products that will be available in the color; a Lipstick and a “lavish golden-bronze Lipglass.”
According to Bustle, the money that is raised from the products goes “towards helping adults and children living with HIV.” Now, this is not the first time the brand has helped out this organization. Since 1994, the company has had their own charity called the MAC AIDS Foundation. They raise money for their organization by seeking the help of celebrities to collaborate with their Viva Glam line.
As noted on the MAC AIDS Fund website their “mission is to serve people of All Ages, All Races, All Sexes affected by HIV and AIDS.” Besides Rupaul and Mariah Carey, there has been a laundry list of celebrities who have stepped up to help out. Those readers looking at this article right now may even have a Viva Glam lipstick in their collection.
If you are looking to support a good cause and want to look fabulous while doing so, the MAC AIDS Fund is a great way. Starting September 7th Taraji P. Henson’s lipsticks will be available online and in stores. The new shades will cost $17 and will only be available until February 2018.
If you are looking for a new shade, this is a perfect time to pick up a new lipstick. Not to mention, you are helping a great cause all while looking fabulous.
