A$AP Rocky is a jack of all trades, but he's getting back to his main reason for rockin'... His music.

Rocky talked with GQ and when it came to the subject of his newest album that he's working on, he said the following:

"My new album is really about testing new sounds. People are scared to test new sounds, so they go with what's current 'cause it's the easy thing to do. The top 100 songs sound a certain way. People cater more to that because it's a bigger demographic behind that, or it's a guaranteed demographic behind that. I prefer to experiment and have my crowd grow with me and to reach new crowds. I don't just rap—I actually make music. That's why it takes time. These sonics represent me."

A$AP Rocky has a point. With all the music coming out recently, they have a "certain way" of sounding, and when an artist has reached an established point where they are able to experiment with sounds, that's the time that you are able to expand your reach to new audiences.

Though A$AP falls into a specific genre, he's taken interesting risks in the past, including this throwback from 2015, when he did the song "Everyday," which included a sample from Rod Stewart.
