A note has been found claiming the attack was carried out in the name of ISIS.

10:12pm – Update – CNN is reporting that police in New York have found a note inside the truck used in the attack. Authorities have stated that the note has claimed the attack in the name of ISIS.

9:00pm – Police are releasing details about the suspect in today’s terror attack in New York. His name is Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov and he is from Uzbekistan and came to the United States in 2010.

7:30pm – Update – New York police have confirmed 8 people are dead in the wake of todays truck terror attack.  ‘

We’re following a story out of New York: a man rented a Home Depot truck and ran it into a group of bikers on a bike path in Manhattan. Witnesses are saying the name yelled “Allahu Akbar” as the incident was occurring. Authorities are treating the incident as an act of terrorism.

Reports are saying the perpetrator jumped out of the truck after the incident carrying two weapons, one of which was identified as a BB gun. The driver was then shot by police and is currently in the hospital.

Numerous injuries have been reported. CNN is reporting that there are currently 6 dead.
