The Bounce Remembers Detroit Native Della Reese
The ultra talented and multi faceted artist Della Reese has passed away. She was 86.
Delloreese Patricia Early aka Della Resse the star of films like Harlem Nights and tv’s Touched By An Angel has passed away according to Variety.
Della Reese was born in the Black Bottom neighborhood of Detroit in 1931. She started her career as a jazz singer and transitioned into film in the ’50s and ’60s.
Roma Downey, co-star of the show “Touched By An Angel”, announced Della’s passing on social media:
“She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and pastor, as well as an award-winning actress and singer. Through her life and work she touched and inspired the lives of millions of people, […] She was a mother to me and I had the privilege of working with her side by side for so many years on ‘Touched by an Angel.’ I know heaven has a brand new angel this day. Della Reese will be forever in our hearts.”
