Hip-hop heads, listen up!!!Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) announced he is going to do another Black Star album. We assume it will be with Talib Kweli.
Bey made the announcement during a performance in Denver with DJ Madlib.
During the set, Bey said, “New Black Star 2018. Madlib. Black Star. Madlib. Black Star.” Madlib added, “Y’all ready for that album with us?”
The group had one album in 1998. Bey and Kweli have collaborated on other work since then but never another full collection of songs. In 2011, they teamed up for a Madlib produced single called Fix Up.
It will be the 20th anniversary of the Black Star album this year. Would you like to hear another Black Star album?
