Yup, according to a piece in GQ by Drew Magary, who writes from his own perspective that "taking the edge off" enhances his skills with the kids.
Magary writes that while high he avoids petty power struggles and doesn't micro-manage his children.
His caveats include Don't Get Totally Wasted, Just Buzzed and Don't Smoke In Front Of Kids Or Other Parents.
Turns out taking the edge off can enhance your parenting skills. Before we had our first kid, I tossed all my weed supplies: the bowl, the last of my last eighth, and the cigar box I kept all that in. I felt it was the responsible thing to do.
