Serena Williams talks body-shaming on ‘The View’
Serena Williams appeared on The View Tuesday. During the conversation, Williams talked about the fears she has for her daughter.
Williams is concerned that her daughter will have a hard time overcoming body image issues like she did. She said her daughter, Alexis Jr., has “strong arms and legs.”
Serena continued,
“Looking at my daughter and looking at my mom and how she went through the negative of myself and my body, I don’t know how she did it.”
Williams also said, “I’ve been body-shamed basically since I’ve been in the public eye” and it took her years to love herself. The good news? Williams added, “My body is creating all these opportunities for me and I wouldn’t have any other way.”How have you dealt with personal body-image issues or issues a child may have had?
