Childish Gambino is back, baby.
In the video, Donald Glover slays facial expressions, his bars, and fad dances as he makes commentary on what he believes “This Is America” represents.
This video is the first set of music that Gambino has dropped since ‘Awaken! My Love’ which gathered mixed reviews. It’s also been noted in the press that Glover has shared that this will be his last album. He’s quoted by Variety saying “I think endings are good because they force things to get better.”
It’s important to note the voices and appearances that also make it in this video: SZA is sitting on a car in the second to final sequence, and you hear signature “AYE!” noises in the beats, meaning that Chance The Rapper was probably involved in mixing this track, or at the very least, will be on Gambino’s next album.
