Black-ish has not been shy about tackling social issues. The news that ABC shelved an episode about the NFL protests caught show star Tracee Ellis Ross off guard.

She told the Hollywood Reporter,

“The details of why the episode was pulled and everything that has surrounded that, I do not have the answers for. To a certain extent, I have purposefully stayed out of those conversations because I have had no power to do something beyond that.”

Ellis Ross continued,

“So, I have asked for the information and pushed for the information that I felt would be helpful to me and constructive in what I can do with it, because I find it frightening.”

The episode was originally supposed to air on February 27th. ABC and show creator Kenya Barris had creative differences about the show and it was replaced by a re-run.

Do you think this episode of Black-ish will ever see the light of day?
