Rick Ross Facing Lawsuit Over “Maybach Music” Tagline
Rick Ross is being sued for the use of his tagline, “Maybach Music”. A rapper by the name of Young Muhammad says that Ross stole the name from his 2007 single, “Caprice Music”.
Ishaq R. Muhammad, the real name of the rapper, started the lawsuit in September of 2017 and TMZ says that Muhammad claims that he featured Rick on his ‘Caprice Music’ single and Ross could be heard saying the phrase all over the track. Muhammad claims that’s where Ross got the idea for ‘Maybach Music.”
The case is going to small claims court and instead of asking for millions, Muhammad is asking for $9,999 for allegedly stealing his intellectual property. RocNation is also named in the suit due to their endorsement of MMG.
