People are Not Happy with the First Pictures of Will Smith as the Genie In “Aladdin”

The first pictures of Disney’s live-action “Aladdin” remake hit the web yesterday, and it seems like NOBODY is happy…

The main beef is that Will Smith’s Genie isn’t blue.

(He’s the color of . . . Will Smith?)

But Will went on Instagram to set the record straight.  He said, quote, “Yes, I’m gonna be BLUE! 🙂  This is how the Genie is in Human / Disguise Form.  My character will be CGI most of the movie.”

Meanwhile, Will tells “Entertainment Weekly that it was intimidating to take on the character, since there wasn’t a lot of room to improve on what Robin Williams did in the original.

But one unique thing he did bring to it was a “hip-hop flavor” . . . something you don’t see a lot of in Disney’s history.
