McDonald’s is going all-in on bacon.
On Wednesday, the chain announced that for one hour on January 29, customers would get free bacon with any menu item.
The deal is meant to highlight the chain’s new thick-cut, Applewood-smoked bacon as well as the three new bacon-centric menu items: the Big Mac with bacon, the Quarter Pounder Bacon burger, and cheesy bacon fries.
The “Bacon Hour” is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time on Tuesday, January 29. Customers are eligible to receive two pieces of bacon on the side of any order, whether a burger, a Filet-O-Fish, or a hot-fudge sundae. McDonald’s will limit each person to one side of bacon.
“I love bacon. America loves bacon,” the chef Michael Haracz, who is the manager of culinary innovation at McDonald’s, said in a statement. “I really can’t wait to see the crazy and daring combinations our customers put together.”
The Big Mac with bacon, the Quarter Pounder Bacon burger, and cheesy bacon fries are scheduled to hit menus on January 30, the day after Bacon Hour.
