Jay-Z & Tidal Launches $1Million Grant For Detroit Artists
Rap mogul and businessman, Jay-Z bout the streaming platform, Tidal in 2015 and now they are investing in Detroit artists. Starting Friday, March 1st, artists can submit their music to the platform for a chance to win a portion of the $1 million grant for Tidal Unplugged.
You must be a resident of Detroit and the artist song “must be performed a capella or acoustically and must not rely heavily on digital elements”. If selected as a finalist, artists will work with Tidal Unplugged to identify the specific needs of their career: recording resources, marketing tools, travel or living expenses, etc.
The finalists will be announced in May and will record four songs through the program to perform in November.
