Jussie Smollett has been indicted on 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report after a Cook County Grand Jury ruled earlier today.

The grand jury returned two separate sets of charges.  The first set is related to his initial conversation with police; the second is related to his second conversation with Police later that day.

Smollett has already pleaded not guilty to the first disorderly conduct charge. He posted $100,000 bond to be freed.

Smollett originally told police that he was attacked by a pair of men and that they called him racial and homophobic slurs, put a noose around his neck, and poured a chemical substance on him.

Two Nigerian brothers later came forward and said that they had been paid $3500 by Smollett to orchestrate the attack.  When questioned, Smollett claimed that the brothers were setting him up, and that he had paid them for personal training sessions.

Smollett has denied any guilt related to these incidents, but has yet to plead to these new charges.
