R Kelly Says His "Spirit" Made Him Do It

R Kelly recently made headlines because of his shocking interview with CBS's Gayle King.

In the interview, the Pied Piper of R&B broke down crying, exploded with anger, said he was "fighting for his life" and categorically denied any wrongdoing on his part.

The general consensus is that the interview made him look more like a guilty man than an innocent man.

But this raises an important question: if Kelly is so distraught about all of this, why would he agree to speak about it on camera?

According to TMZ, sources close to Kelly say that the singer's spirit told him to agree to the interview.

You read that right: for R Kelly, going off the walls on national television was a spiritual decision.

This information is interesting when considering that, in the interview, Kelly that his biggest weakness was that he had too big of a heart.

What do you think of all this?  Do you think Kelly's spirit really encouraged him to come forward, or do you think the singer is trying to paint a better picture of himself in the public eye?
