In an Instagram video, Lee Daniels indirectly spoke about how frustrating Jussie Smollett’s case has been for the Empire cast.
“Oh my God! These past couple of weeks have been a freaking roller coaster. Me and my cast have experienced pain, anger, sadness, and frustration, and really don’t know how to deal with it,” Daniels says while brushing his teeth, yesterday evening (Mar.20).
“Everything has happened what you are seeing tonight prior to the incident. And this is not what the show as made for. The show was made to bring America together. To talk about the atrocities that are happening right now in the streets.”
“So anyway both shows on tonight, Star and Empire. They’re incredible! Wow,” he concluded.
Smollett is scheduled to return to court on Apr. 17.
