Do You Want The Michigan State Fair To Return To Detroit?
The Michigan Land Bank approved the sale of the Michigan State Fairgrounds on Eight Mile and Woodward where the Michigan State Fair ran from 1905 to 2009. Magic Plus, a development company owned by Michigan native and MSU alum, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, bought the fairgrounds from the Michigan Land Bank and hasn’t yet revealed their plans for the site.
The remaining and majority portion of the land is still owned by the city of Detroit and they must complete the sale of their portion before it is final. It is said to be a done deal but there is that last issue to deal with for Magic.
The question now is, what do you want to see done to the site? Would you want the Michigan State Fair to come back to the fairgrounds? Do we need more residential and commercial areas built there?
