Serena Williams Is The Second Black Woman To Land Cover Of A Wheaties Box…

Serena Williams, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, has became the second black woman in history to be featured on the front of the Wheaties cereal box!

General Mills and Serena officially announced the news yesterday June 25th, 2019.

In 2001, Wheaties paid homage to a true champion and an icon by putting her on the cover of a Wheaties Box. Althea Gibson was the FIRST Black Woman tennis player to be on the box. Today, I am honored to be the second.

You can expect to see the new boxes in grocery stores within the next month.

Williams shared her excitement on Instagram with the caption, “In 2001, Wheaties paid homage to a true champion and an icon by putting her on the cover of a Wheaties Box. Althea Gibson was the FIRST Black Woman tennis player to be on the box,” she wrote. “Today, I am honored to be the second.”

Serena is a four time Olympic gold medal winner, the first athlete to make the Forbes’ richest self-made woman list as well as the only woman on the highest paid athletes list!

The Lion King Is Breaking Records!

Although The Lion King doesn’t hit theaters til July 19, 2019, ticket sales are already skyrocketing!

Erik Davis, Fandango editor reported that The Lion King sold the most tickets out of ANY live-action Disney movie in the first 24 hours of advance ticket sales.

The film is behind only Avengers: Endgame for first-day sales on the site this year.

On Atom tickets The Lion King has sold FOUR TIMES MORE than Aladdin did in its first day of sales.

Opening again on July 19, director Jon Favreau’s, The Lion King features the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Florence Kasumba, Eric André, Keegan-Michael Key, JD McCrary, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and James Earl Jones.

Power May NOT End After The 6th Season

The Starz drama Power was officially set to end after its season six finale but it appears as the show’s executive producer and star, 50 Cent has changed his mind.

50 Cent announced on Instagram Tuesday with this caption, “I changed my mind POWER is not going to be over after season 6,” he writes. “This s— is [too] good.”
