WATCH: HBO Drops Teaser For Issa Rae’s New Series ‘Black Lady Sketch Show’
HBO recently released the trailer for Issa Rae’s forthcoming comedy, A Black Lady Sketch Show.
Executive produced by Rae and Robin Thede, the comical series stars Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis, and Quinta Brunson.
A Black Lady Sketch Show also calls on a major list of guest stars to assist with bringing the funny such as Angela Bassett, Tia Mowry, Lena Waithe, Laverne Cox, Amber Riley, Patti LaBelle, Marsai Martin, Loretta Devine, Khandi Alexander, and Kelly Rowland.
Of course, Rae will also make guest appearances. The show will perhaps hold HBO’s Insecure fans over who were disappointed when the network announced that the hit show wouldn’t be returning until 2020.
Saweetie’s single “My Type” can be heard in the trailer as well as music from Megan Thee Stallion.
A Black Lady Sketch Show premieres on Friday, August 2. Watch the trailer above.
