Apparently, 1996’s Set It Off starring Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Vivica A. Fox, and Kimberly Elise is headed back to theaters. Issa Rae, co-creator of HBO’s Insecure is slated to produce the project, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

She also has her eye set on starring in the new reimagining of the cult classic film. Rae will be producing the new version of the movie alongside her partner Montrel McKay who works with the actress and producer at Issa Rae Productions.

Syreeta Singleton (Black Monday) and Nina Gloster (Star) are both charged with writing the script. The original film was about a quartet of friends who were tired of being underemployed and being subjected to institutional violence, so they united to go on a bank robbing spree. Although the four were initially successful, the journey of robbing banks didn’t end so well.
