Southwest Detroit Restaurant Week starts TODAY! …Perfect for National Taco Day!

The event, which starts today and goes until October 13th, will feature nearly 25 Latin American restaurants.

“Southwest Detroit Restaurant Week will offer attendees much more than just an affordable price point since we know that can be easily found throughout our community,” said Southwest Detroit Restaurant Week Event Organizer Monica Casarez. “Participating restaurants will offer guests a truly remarkable dining experience by showcasing an exclusive menu that is centered on Southwest Detroit’s diverse cultures, origins and stories.”

Oct. 4 is National Taco Day, and national and regional taco chains are marking this taco lovers’ fiesta day with free tacos or specials.

Taco tidbit: According to the made-up food holiday’s website, NationalTacoDay.com, Americans ate more than 4.5 billion tacos last year.

The site estimates that’s 490,000 miles of tacos and 775 million pounds!
