Easy On The Laughs

The popular streaming service is cutting back on the amount of stand up comedy specials it releases and opting for a more refined approach to their service.

After relying on a seemingly endless list of stand up specials from both well known and obscure comedians to drive up subscriptions to their streaming service, Netflix is now streamlining the amount of stand up specials available.

Last year around this time, Netflix was streaming 50 or so titles in their stand up specials catalog.

In 2019, they streamed 30.

With other services like Hulu, Amazon Prime and now the juggernaut that is Disney Plus marking their own respective territories in the on-demand market, many are wondering what the longtime leader in streaming will do to stay afloat in a sea that is getting deeper with offers and incentives to lure uses to their product.
