CM Punk stunned the wrestling world when he returned to WWE programming last night (November 12) after leaving the company in 2014.
Punk appeared on last night’s episode of FS1’s WWE Backstage and said, “It’s as simple as this: Just when they think they got the answers, I change the culture. I’ll see you here next week.”
It was then confirmed that Punk will be “appearing periodically on [WWE Backstage] beginning next Tuesday, November 19.
Of course, many will speculate whether this will eventually lead to a return to the ring, but as of right now, this might just be the biggest surprise in the wrestling world in 2019. It should be noted that WWE Backstage is a Fox-run program, so technically, Punk isn’t working for WWE. He is very much an employee of Fox.
