Is This Why Gabrielle Union Is No Longer On “AGT?”
Gabrielle Union’s short run as a judge on America’s Got Talent came to an end this week. A lot of people wondered why.
According to Variety, Union was wary of a “toxic culture” around the show. She urged an NBC executive to speak to human resources about a culturally insensitive joke made by Jay Leno when he was on the show.
There was also a white male performer who impersonated Beyonce but used black hands to pull it off. The stunt was not seen on TV, but it was seen by the live audience. It was also reported that Gabrielle’s hairstyles were too black for the show. One might say that NBC let Union go because of her speaking out but the network says they regularly “refresh lineups” on the show.
