Nike has introduced a new, modest bathing suit line for 2020. The Nike Victory Swim Collection will include modest pieces for women who wear a hijab. The collection will also have a full-coverage bodysuit, a tunic top, and leggings.
Nike explains that this new collection “brings performance innovation to modest swimwear. Its sleek, innovative silhouette provides a game-changing option for female athletes seeking full coverage and full range of motion in the water.”
They also add that while learning from athletes across diverse communities, they noticed that there was a lack of options for females who wanted both modesty and the ability to move and workout comfortably. “Existing products were lacking in either coverage or functionality, athletes shared, leaving them feeling weighed down by baggy garments, battling drag instead of striving toward personal bests or worrying about whether their hijabs and coverings would remain in place.” They add, “The more we listened, the more possibility we saw to serve female athletes in new dimensions.”
The Nike Victory Swim Collection will be available in selected retailers in Los Angeles, New York, London, and Dubai in February.
