Christmas is just a few days away, and if anyone should be celebrating early, it should definitely be pop singer Mariah Carey.
“All I Want For Christmas is You” is arguably the most popular Christmas song ever. Amazingly, the song came out 25 years ago and has never reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts, until Monday this week. This gives Mariah her 19th No. 1 single on the Billboard 100, only the Beatles have more No. 1’s. It’s also the first Christmas song to reach the top since 1958 with “The Chipmunk Song” by the Chipmunks.
“All I Want For Christmas is You” has earned Mariah over $60 million in royalties over the years. Clearly, it’s a cultural favorite to play during this time every year. If she wasn’t already, Mariah is now officially crowned as the Queen of Christmas.
