After being delayed for well over a year, it looks like The New Mutants is going to hit theaters. 20th Century Fox — the home of the all of the X-Men related films, including Logan and the Deadpool movies — just released the latest trailer for the movie.

The New Mutants | Official Trailer | 20th Century FOX

20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment presents "The New Mutants," an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

In the comic books, the New Mutants are a team of young mutants assembled by X-Men founder and mentor, Charles Xavier. That doesn’t appear to be the storyline here, as the story seems based in an asylum, which seems very unlike Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters. Whether this film will tie in to any of the previous X-films is unknown. It’s also likely to be the last film before a massive X-Men reboot, now that Disney has bought Fox. Other than Logan and the Deadpool movies, the other recent X-films have not been commercially successful or critically hailed. Last year’s Dark Phoenix was considered to be a flop by critics and fans.

The New Mutants — starring Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass) as Magik, Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) as Cannonball, Henry Zaga (Teen Wolf) as Sunspot, and Blu Hunt (The Originals) as Mirage, is due in theaters April 3.
