Simba in the new Lion King starring Donald Glover.

A Berkely, California elementary school has been billed $250 by Disney for playing ‘The Lion King’ remake at the school.

The PTA at Emerson Elementary got the bill after they showed the movie as a fundraiser for the school. According to Disney’s licensing agency Movie Licensing USA, they were informed of the charge after the school didn’t get a Public Performance License to show the movie.

Apparently the father bought the movie at Best Buy and showed the film and served pizza to kids as parents had a night out on the town.

Do you think that a fee should’ve been charged to the school?
