Governor Whitmer Has Closed All Hair and Nail Salons and Extended Restaurant Closure in Response to COVID-19
Last night, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued an executive order closing all nail salons, hair salons, tanning salons, and tattoo shops in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
The closures took effect this morning at 9am, and will be in effect until April 13th at 11:59pm.
The new order also extends the previously-issued order closing restaurants, bars, fitness centers, and movie theaters to the same April 13th deadline.
“COVID-19 has created an unprecedented challenge to our way of life as Michiganders,” Whitmer said in a release. “That’s why we are making decisions based on science and facts to protect public health and keep people safe. I know these changes will be hard, but they are temporary, and they are necessary to slow the spread of the virus and help save lives.”
