Canada made a bold statement and immediately banned military-grade assault weapons, including two models made by the gunman who killed 22 people last month in Nova Scotia, the country’s deadliest mass shooting.

Justin Trudeau, Canada’s prime minister says, “These weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only: to kill the largest amount of people in the shortest amount of time. There is no use — and no place — for such weapons in Canada, he said. While most firearms owners are responsible gun owners, he said, “you don’t need an AR-15 to bring down a deer.”

The ban includes the sale, transport and use of the weapons.

One weapon that’s banned that particularly sticks out to me is the AR-15 which has been used countless times here in the United States.

I usually don’t like to share my opinion on this topic because it always gets twisted into something political when personally, this has nothing to do with politics for me. This has to do with people dying each year due to mass shootings and no matter how much we say ‘Something has to be done!”, let’s face it, nothing ever comes of it.

I fully support Justin’s stance and I think this is something that is long overdue here in America. How many more people have to die? Justin took the words right out of my mouth. You don’t need an assault weapon to hunt. I don’t understand how someone can argue that.

Do you think this is something that happens here in America?
