Gabourey Sidibe Did Her Own Senegalese Twists and She’s Disappointed

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many people have become their own hairstylists and barbers, including celebrities. Actress Gabourey Sidibe recently did her own Senegalese Twists. However, the Empire star is disappointed.
On Monday (May 18), Sidibe shared a photograph on Instagram of her finished product. “I had to braid my own hair and I’m so disappointed that my Senegalese ancestors didn’t rise up in my fingers to help me with these twists,” the actress wrote in the caption of her post. “Rude.”

Sidibe’s Empire co-star Taraji P. Henson has also been doing her own hairstyles lately and sharing her results on Instagram with her fans. Henson also has been promoting her new haircare line, TPH By Taraji, which is exclusively sold at Target outlets. She’s also been sharing her experience regarding her natural hair journey.
