The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is impacting retail, and now, stores that were already having trouble staying afloat before the crisis are looking at even rougher sales numbers for 2020.
According to Business Insider, the following retail stores are closing multiple locations across the country, and many of them have locations near Detroit:
Pier 1: closing 500 stores
Victoria’s Secret: closing 238 stores
JC Penney: closing 242 stores
Game Stop: closing 350 stores
Papyrus: closing all stores
Forever 21: closing 178 stores
Bose: closing all stores
Macy’s: closing 125 stores
AC Moore: closing all stores
Sears: closing 51 stores
If you have a gift card for any of the stores closing, a safe bet would be to use it as soon as possible!
