Target is just one of those stores I go to where I end up spending more money than I intended to. My brother also works there so that makes me support it even more. Now, I'm all in on a store that not only is observing Juneteenth but also raising the starting pay for their employees.

That's right, Target is raising its starting wage to $15/hr starting July 5. They already were giving employees a $2 per increase in hazard pay since the start of the coronavirus.

This increase makes good on a promise that they would be at $15/hr by the end of 2020. It's coming early and definitely at a time where people can use the money. Keep in mind, the federal minimum wage is still only $7.25 an hour. How pitiful.

Target also said that it would also give hourly employees a one-time bonus of $200 at the end of July. Oh, that's not all. They're also throwing in free virtual doctor visits, backup child and family care, on-demand fitness classes and free thermometers to employees who need them.

The investment that Target is making is costing them $1 billion!

Wow, I am certainly in the wrong career field! Kudos to Target!
