Dammit!!! I need to get back into the gym like yesterday!

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, aka “Big Gretch” has filed an appeal to stop an injunction that allows indoor gyms to reopen on Thursday, June 25th.

Last week, the U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney ruled that indoor gyms were allowed to reopen on June 25, despite Gretchen Whitmer ordering them to remain closed. The judge in the case thought that Whitmer closing gyms at the beginning of the pandemic was the right move, but said “it can’t allow other businesses to be open as gyms remain closed.”

Attorney General Dana Nessel has filed an appeal of that ruling, saying Big Gretch and the Department of Health and Human Services are relying on facts for the reason to keep gyms closed as other businesses reopen.

Maloney’s ruling said that gyms must follow COVID-19 prevention protocols such as limiting the amount of people inside, social distancing and keeping things clean.

We’ll have to see what happens on Thursday!

I was looking forward to gyms reopening because as I am battling diabetes and trying to shed some pounds, I need my apartment complex fitness center to reopen so I can get busy! Oh well, back to walking for an hour a day!
