Mickey Madden, the bassist for Maroon 5, was arrested over the weekend for domestic violence. Afterward, he posted bail for $50,000.
Variety explains that the charge against the musician involves “willful infliction of a ‘traumatic’ injury on a spouse or cohabitant.” They add that Mickey Madden is not married, but the identity of the victim is not yet available.
In a statement from a Maroon 5 spokesperson, they state, “We are deeply devastated by this disappointing news. As we learn more, we are looking at this very seriously. For now, we are allowing all of the individuals involved the space to work things through.”
Madden has not individually commented on the altercation.
According to Variety, Mickey was also arrested in 2016 after being accused of giving a vial of cocaine to a man in a New York bar. The bassist denied the charges, and they were later dismissed. He was given a day of community service.
