Detroit Residents Asked to Submit Photos of Loved Ones for COVID-19 Memorial
Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan has named Aug. 31, 2020, Detroit Memorial Day to honor the local residents who have died from coronavirus (COVID-19).
The day will feature a citywide memorial with large photo boards of Detroit residents who have passed away from the virus along Belle Isle.
Family members and friends are being asked to drive the route to say goodbye to their loved ones on Aug. 31. Many of them were not able to say goodbye in person.
Detroit residents are also being encouraged to send photographs of their family members and friends who have passed away from COVID-19 to appear along the route.
To submit photos, follow the directions below. Deadline is July 31.

According to officials, the large photo boards will be given to the families after the event.
