Do you binge watch Netflix like we do? Well, Netflix blew EVERYONE out of the water with 160 nominations, which is a new record high for one “network” in a single year. The previous record was 137, which was set by HBO last year.
The nominees for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards are out, and HBO’s “Watchmen” led the way with 26 nominations. “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” was next with 20 . . . followed by “Ozark” (18), “Succession” (18), “The Mandalorian” (15), “Schitt’s Creek” (15), “Saturday Night Live” (15), and “The Crown” (13).
The Gello Show loves Netflix’s show Ozark!!! It received 18 Emmy nominations! The announcement was made on Tuesday, July 28th, with Jason Bateman being nominated for Best Lead Actor and co-star, Laura Linney for Best Lead Actress.
Ozark, which is about to go into its fourth and final season, also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for Julia Garner’s role as “Ruth.”
The Obamas also picked up some Emmy nominations. Their production company, Higher Ground Productions, received seven Emmy nominations for both documentaries Becoming and American Factory.
The Emmys will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on September 20th.
