If your morning breakfast routine includes some TV time to catch the news or watch that show you DVR’d the night before, well that could be the reason you’re gaining weight. (If you’re gaining weight, that is!).

Nutritionists and personal trainers say that when you eat a meal while watching TV, you are distracting your brain. This can lead to overeating because you aren’t allowing your brain to alert you that you are satisfied. Plus, studies have shown that watching television while eating can slow your metabolism, causing you to burn calories at a slower pace than you normally would.

I’m pretty sure that TV can distract you from how much you’re eating at any time of the day….Which explains the 3 missing bags of Doritos at my place….
