Oprah Winfrey Makes Election Day a Company Holiday for OWN TV
Oprah REALLY wants you to vote and I’m here for it!
Oprah Winfrey took to her Instagram on August 19th to announce Election Day would be a holiday at OWN TV.
She chose to make the announcement on August 19th as that was the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.
She wrote, in honor of those who fought and continue to fight for our right to vote, I’m announcing that November 3rd, Election Day will be a company holiday at OWN TV.
In addition to voting. Oprah is encouraging her staff and others to get involved in the process and volunteer.
A lot of people are calling it one of, if not THE most important election of the decade. I will be voting but I also know I’ll have to show up at work!
