Aaliyah’s Music Might Be Coming To Streaming Platforms
There’s exciting news for Aaliyah fans! Nineteen years after the late singer passed, her music might finally be coming to streaming platforms.
On Tuesday (Aug. 25), the singer’s official Instagram page shared a message to Aaliyah’s “loyal fans.” “We are excited to announce that communication has commenced between the estate and various record labels about the status of Aaliyah’s music catalog,” the message read.
“As well as its availability on streaming platforms in the near future. Thank you for your continued love and support. More updates to come!”
Aaliyah’s 1994 debut album, Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number is the only album of the artist’s that’s currently on streaming platforms as well as the singer’s singles that were included in movie soundtracks, including “I Don’t Wanna.”
Nineteen years ago today (August 25, 2001), R&B legend Aaliyah died in a tragic plane crash that also claimed the lives of her hairstylist, security guard, make-up artist, and a few other members of her team.
The fatal plane crash that left family, fans, peers, and friends of the popular R&B singer devasted took place following the filming of Aaliyah’s music video for her single “Rock the Boat.”
