Tiger King star, Doc Antle is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges for his treatment and transport of lion cubs.
Doc Antle is the founder and owner of Myrtle Beach safari which I visited this past May. I was very impressed with the safari, how he interacted with the animals and the experience in general.
Doc was indicted for felony wildlife trafficking after a months-long investigation found evidence he trafficked lion cubs between South Carolina and Virginia, according to Attorney General in Virginia.
The Tiger King documentary that had all of us watching during quarantine mentioned his park was raided and it looks like that raid was part of this investigation.
According to TMZ, Antle is also charged with 1 felony count of conspiracy to sell or transport endangered wildlife, 4 misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to violate the Endangered Species Act, and 9 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.
What makes matters worse, 2 of his daughters, Tawny Antle and Tilakam Watterson were charged with misdemeanors for animal cruelty and violating the Endangered Species Act.
When previously visiting the safari, I interviewed with him and we discussed Joe Exotic, Carole Baskin, Tiger King and more! Keep in mind, this interview was done in May 2020, months before the indictment. I was also 35 pounds heavier!
