So if you have a cough and you're wondering if you've got the 'RONA, AI can tell you!

According to PCMag, an AI model, trained on tens of thousands of sample coughs and spoken words, was able to accurately identify 98.5 percent of coughs from people who were confirmed to have novel coronavirus—including 100 percent of those who were not displaying symptoms. If you are asymptomatic, you could be coughing and sneezing but not feeling any symptoms that would have you thinking you've caught the virus.

Apparently researchers were using AI to record signs of Alzheimer's which they found effective. They thought "what if these same biomarkers would work for COVID."

They did - apparently there are major similarities between the two diseases.

Here's what would be cool: What if there was a mobile app where you could cough into the app and it tell you if you should take a test? The same MIT researchers who developed this AI model is working to develop it into an app. Imagine that. That could significantly stop the spread.

I don't know about you but I'm tired of people thinking I have the virus just because I cough! I'm excited to watch technology work!
