TALK ABOUT ADORABLE: A 5 year-old girl got viral attention from a heartwarming video of her using American Sign Language for her deaf parents at a kindergarten Christmas concert.

The 2013 viral video features Claire Koch, who at the time, was just 5 years old. She used her fingers to spell out carol lyrics for her parents, Lori and Thomas Koch, who uploaded the clip to YouTube. The video captures a group of kindergartners singing a Christmas song to the tune of “Bingo was his name-o.”

Claire’s mother, Lori, told Yahoo News in an email that she was not expecting her daughter to sign during the performance. “The regular kids used generic hand motions while my daughter chose to use sign language, to our surprise,” she said.

Koch told Yahoo News that she can read lips, speak and sign, while her husband, who is also deaf, uses only sign language. “ASL is the first language in our home, so our daughter has been exposed to it since birth,” she said.
