The House of Representatives on Monday approved a stimulus payment hike from $600 to $2,000 for most Americans. The increase, which was championed by President Donald Trump, passed with a 275-134 vote, the House revealed. The next step is sending the bill to the Senate. However the future of the bill is less certain.

Therefore, The bill being  sent to the Senate, where it needs to get approval from at least two-thirds of its members before it’s ready for the president’s signature. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has not said whether he supports the increase.
