Carr Center and Thornetta Davis Team for Black History Month Livestream
In celebration of Black History Month, the Carr Center has teamed up with JazzCorner.com to highlight Detroit blues legend Thornetta Davis with a special performance at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.
Davis recently gained national accolades for her collaboration with Jeff Daniels. The two collaborated and co-wrote “I Am America” for Daniels’ 2020 album, “Alive and Well Enough,” and the song was played in an online voter awareness campaign before Georgia’s run-off election.
Davis is also nominated for Best Soul Blues Female Artist at the 42nd Annual Blues Music Awards, which takes place in June.
The upcoming virtual performance is free but requires registration. To sign up, head to TheCarrCenter.org.
