Dog Walkers Beef Up Security In Response to Lady Gaga’s Dog Napping Assault
Dog walking companies in the Hollywood area are beefing up security to prevent another kidnapping incident in the wake of the near fatal-shooting of Lady Gaga's dog walker, Ryan Fischer and the abduction of her dogs, as the gossip web site TMZ reports.
Some of the security measures dog walkers in effect are: looking to get a concealed carry permit, which is incredibly difficult to obtain in California, taking jiu-jitsu classes, carrying pepper spray and flashlights, cancelling nighttime walks altogether or only going down well-lit, highly-trafficked areas, and purchasing GoPro-like body cams, so “cameras are rolling should any would-be thieves want to get handsy.”
The news outlet‘s video supports the theory that Lady Gaga may have been specifically targeted by the criminals. According to law enforcement, Ryan Fischer told numerous people in the neighborhood he was walking Gaga’s dogs, so the information could have spread to the assailants.
In the video, the car that approached Ryan Fischer, showed two people immediately jumping out to attack the dog walker.
When Fischer put up a fight, one of the men opened fire on him with a semiautomatic handgun and then fled the scene with the singer’s two French bulldogs, Gustav and Koji, the New York Post reports.
Gaga was filming a new movie called Gucci in Italy when the tragic ordeal happened. It’s still unclear if she’s planning to fly home to help in the investigation.
A source told Entertainment Tonight that “Lady Gaga is beside herself about this situation. Ryan is not only her dog walker, but also her friend. She is horrified that this happened.” She goes on to say, “her dogs are her babies and she is completely devastated and sickened by this.”
There have been no arrests yet and Lady Gaga’s offered a $500,000 reward for the return of her dogs.
