Detroit’s Campus Martius Named One of the Best Public Squares in the U.S.

Detroit’s Campus Martius is being honored as one of USA Today’s 10Best Top Public Squares for 2021.
Detroit came it at No. 5 out of 10 on the list. Not bad!
“Campus Martius Park serves as Detroit’s gathering place, where locals and visitors alike can come to take in the skyline views, people watch around the Woodward Fountain, grab a meal from a food truck or go ice skating in winter,” the publication states.

If you’re wondering the science behind this top 10 list, according to the publication, a panel of experts picked a selection of public squares for the competition. Then, the top 10 public squares were picked by popular vote.
